Service Description

WHO: Dr. Mallory is a Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist who recently opened a holistic healing practice in Lenox specializing in treatment beyond medication management for women and children. She finished her residency at Mt. Sinai in NYC and was trained at an Autism clinic in DC. She enjoys sharing her joys of nature with her husband and 2 children. WHAT: The :60-:90 public hike is on the brand new BNRC managed boardwalk trail over Parsons Marsh. The hike begins and ends around a fire at the BNRC trailhead parking lot. The trail is 2/3mi round trip and easy for families and all abilities depending on the weather and surface conditions. On the 1,800-foot (one-third mile) accessible trail, you will wind through an open meadow to a small pond, then into forested upland and vegetated wetland. It provides open views of this large marsh as well as opportunities to sit and experience each habitat. Rest on the bench or picnic on the accessible table near the pond. Just beyond the pond, the trail transitions to boardwalk as it enters the forested wetland. The trail ends at an observation platform which provides open views from the edge of the marsh. WHERE: 170 Under Mountain Rd. in Lenox. From the center of Lenox, head south on Main St. Turn right at the 1st cross street onto MA-183 S/West St and follow for 1.4 miles. Turn right onto Under Mountain Rd. The trailhead is 0.9 miles down the road on the right. HOW: Please wear comfortable clothing and dress in layers to stay warm. Bring water or a thermos with a hot drink. I suggest you bring one more warm layer than you think you will need. We will be moving at a pace that keeps us all together so temperatures may feel cooler than you expect. Bring anything else you may want to be warm and comfortable outdoors (gloves, hat, neck warmer, etc.). Again, think in terms of wearing one more layer than you think you’ll need. If traction cleats are needed we will have some to borrow along with hiking poles, but feel free to bring your own just in case. If you have any questions or need to contact us before the hike , please call or text us at 413-591-9355.
