Vitamin "N" Prescribers

A board-certified internist and nephrologist who has been practicing for more than 25 years. He serves as director of medical education, wellness, and population health at Berkshire Health Systems and associate dean of medical education at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is author of The Savvy Patient: The Ultimate Advocate for Quality Health Care and It’s All in Your Head: Change Your Mind, Change Your Health, and Change Your Life.

Trained in Family Medicine at Georgetown Medical School and St Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, CO, Dr Cooney runs a private practice in Stockbridge that integrates a holistic view of health and illness rooted in Anthroposophic Medicine.

Dr. Stephen Alsdorf is a family doctor in general private practice in Pittsfield. He studied medicine at the University of Massachusetts (Worcester) and did his residency at Boston University. He is a passionate trail runner, backcountry skier and cyclist who is dedicated to helping his patients access the healing potential of nature and their own bodies.

A nutritionist with a practice in Great Barrington and at the Ultrawellness Center in Lenox, Deb's passion is community health. She helps individuals with their personal health challenges and also through community education and projects such as food access, nature access, physical activity and stress management.

Dr. O’Malley is an integrative sleep specialist, master neurofeedback trainer, Interfaith Minister and Naturalist. Dr. O’Malley takes a broad approach to sleep and wellness, moving easily between the technological and the natural/spiritual worlds.

Naomi Alson has been licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine and the National Certification Commission on Acupuncture to practice acupuncture for 17 years. She holds a Masters degree in Oriental Medicine and has special training in acupuncture for the cancer patient from Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. More importantly, she has happily taken people on walks i.d.ing medicinal plants and telling their stories and uses since the mid 70’s. She has a private practice in Lee.

Dr. Levitan has been providing health care to children and adults in Berkshire County for 24 years. After receiving her undergraduate degree from the University at Albany, she earned her M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She completed her Family Practice residency at St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady, NY. Dr. Levitan has studied complementary medicine including nutrition, stress management techniques and homeopathy; and she offers these modalities to her patients.

Dr. Nelson is Director of Medical Education at Kripalu. She holds a medical degree from the University of Massachusetts in Worcester and completed her residency in family medicine at Boston Medical Center. A longtime advocate for community wellness, Lisa is a practicing physician in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and serves as medical director of the Nutrition Center. She is coauthor with Annie B. Kay of Yoga & Diabetes, published by the ADA.

Founder and director of Nature Treatment and licensed mental health counselor specializing in redeeming the health of people, places and play, Eric maintains a private practice while innovating nature treatment interventions.

A graduate of Princeton University and New York Medical College, Dr. Ellrodt has specialized in both Internal and Critical Care Medicine. Holding many top positions and appointments throughout the years, he became BMC's Chairman of the Department of Medicine in 1999 and Director of the hospital's Internal Medicine Training Program. A champion runner, Dr. Ellrodt ran the New York City Marathon in the Fall of 2007, his 50th marathon to date.

Dr. Kahn specializes in internal medicine and is Board certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He completed his studies at Grant Med Coll, Univ of Mumbai, India in 1976 and completed his residency in Family Practice at Monsour Medical Center in Jeannette, PA. Dr. Kahn moved to the Berkshires in 2012 and practices at the Lenox Family Health.

Dr. Susan Lord is a holistic family physician specializing in lifestyle medicine and psychospiritual counseling. As a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where she co-founded the Holistic Medicine Interest Group, Susan has developed training programs with the D.C. Center for Mind-Body Medicine and is the Executive Director of the Center for Peace through Culture.

Dr. Lamm is the chief medical officer and practicing pediatrician for CHP. Dr. Lamm attended the U. of VT College of Medicine and practiced in NH Seacoast for 14yrs before moving to the Berkshires last year. Dr. Lamm enjoys his vitamin "N" from hiking, biking, and playing soccer.

Dr. Martin is nationally board certified and has his own practice in Pittsfield. Martin Chiropractic was voted Best of the Berkshires by The Berkshire Eagle readers in 2011. He specializes in the treatment of muscular skeletal conditions & maintains a regular dosage of vitamin "N" during Winter months as a downhill and Nordic skier and former certified PSIA instructor.

A family medicine physician with more than three decades of experience caring for patients from birth through elder years. Undergraduate degree from Columbia College and his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Completed residency in family medicine at Middlesex Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of the U. of Connecticut. In 1980, he became board certified in family medicine and in 1988, he earned additional additional certification in geriatric medicine

Dr. Snowise is a Family Physician focusing on primary care and sports medicine at Suburban Internal Medicine in Lee for the past 15yrs. He often reminds patients that “exercise is medicine” and models it by skiing, swimming, biking and running in order to fuel his passion for triathlons and outdoor activity.

Peggy is a recently retired adult nurse practitioner from Dalton Medical offering primary care since 1993. Her focus in preventative medicine and healthy lifestyles through the integration of mind, body and spirit created paths for personal growth and overall wellbeing for her patients.

Dr. Carver has practiced dentistry in the Berkshires for the last 10 yrs and combines integrative medicine, nutrition and health coaching into her practice in N. Adams. She grew up in Williamstown and graduated from Mt. Greylock HS.

A certified health and recovery coach and former VP of Community Impact with the United Way. She helps others live their best lives despite chronic health challenges and substance use disorder. As a former owner and operator of an outdoor tour guide she has helped many integrate nature into their everyday lives.

Dr. Mallory is a Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist who recently opened a holistic healing practice in Lenox specializing in treatment beyond medication management for women and children.

In addition to providing personal training, massage and yoga teaching, Dan has over 25 years of spiritual wellness counseling experience and currently works with Canyon Ranch in Lenox. Dan has taught and presented nationally and internationally.

Hilltop Orchards is a 200 acre historic property in the Berkshire region of western Massachusetts. The Vittori family celebrates its 28th year at Hilltop Orchards. Preserving local farming and opening our land for apple picking, hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing is our pleasure and our privilege.

The Tri Town Health Department is overseen by a collaboratation of board members from the towns of Lee, Lenox, and Stockbridge and is the only regional health department in the Berkshire County.

Community Health Programs (CHP) is a health care practice network providing medical and dental care, and family support services, to people in the Berkshire region of Western Massachusetts. CHP accepts all patients and most insurance, including MassHealth, at its nine practice locations throughout the Berkshires, with administrative offices in Great Barrington, Mass. CHP is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

Mt. Greylock Campsite Park is a 40-acre, 90 site recreational park that can accommodate tents, pop-ups, trailers, motorhomes and RV's up to 45 feet. There are two bathhouses with toilets, sinks, and free hot showers. The sites are deep and wide and are nestled in the woods, separated by trees and grass.
